Administration and Secretariat Offices

The Administration and Secretary’s office is a space where the school secretary and school staff work.

Sometimes large centres have administration and secretarial offices, which are spaces where non-teaching staff work and include specific furniture: desks, computers, telephones, etc.

This is where procedures related to student enrolment, monitoring of incidents, management of files relevant to the school, management of enrolments and official incoming and outgoing documentation are carried out.

For all these reasons, the school secretary’s office is the administrative core of the school, although nowadays all this management is carried out through the school management computer platforms that exist in each educational administration. For example, in the case of Asturias, the whole process of student management and enrolment is carried out through the SAUCE computer platform.

This video sheds light on the pivotal role of the secretary’s office as the administrative hub of the school. From enrollments to document management, this office is the operational core. An essential glimpse into the inner workings of the school.

What similarities do you find on this topic in your country?
we have a similar infrastructure to the one described in the video about the administration and secretariat office. We have a dedicated space specifically for administrative and secretarial tasks, where the responsible staff carry out various functions, such as managing enrollments, tracking incidents, and organizing the official school documentation. This space is equipped with desks, computers, and other resources necessary to efficiently carry out these tasks. Additionally, similar to the video, we also utilize technological platforms to streamline and enhance administrative management.
What differences do you find on this topic in your country?
he main difference is that in my primary school in the United Kingdom, administrative tasks are handled in a more decentralized and direct manner, without relying as much on a centralized space like the one described in the video.
