Teacher supports are a series of specialised roles and positions aimed at assisting the teacher and are especially needed with students with special educational needs or with the introduction of new resources, methodologies, etc. Ordinary teachers need expert help when they have students with special educational needs in their classrooms.
On the one hand, their training may limit their interventions with these pupils and, on the other hand, they do not “steal” time from the rest of the pupils. Legislation, both national and regional, has set out how to deal appropriately with pupils in difficulty.
