The Information and Communication Technologies classroom, also known as the New Technologies classroom, or Multimedia classroom, is a space specially prepared to house resources that enable learning activities with computer and audiovisual tools.
This classroom is specially prepared with the appropriate connections and security to provide access to the Internet, to enable the operation of computer equipment and for the viewing of audiovisual documents.
It is generally used by students whose teachers develop up-to-date teaching, either through methodologies focused on research, discovery or problem-solving, on the search for and exploitation of information.
These resources are particularly motivating for pupils, who normally relate them to recreational tasks.
The number of computers available to pupils is an educational indicator. In Spain, there are fewer than 18 pupils per computer at school.
